Job summary

AdventHealth Rome, GA seeks a clinical Dietitian to perform nutrition-focused assessments, reviews, and interventions for patients. You will educate patients, supervise interns, and participate in improvement initiatives while ensuring care meets evidence-based standards.

Responsibilities include entering nutrition orders as authorized, collaborating on interdisciplinary rounds, and applying current nutrition research to practice. RDN credential is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field.
• Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) preferred or required by position.
• Experience in clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform nutrition assessments, analyze data, and identify nutrition risks.
• Provide nutrition interventions, education, and referrals as needed.
• Counsel patients with disease-related nutrition management using evidence-based methods.
• Supervise interns and new staff; participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Enter nutrition orders as allowed by policy and reflect patient care.

Job Description:

Work Schedule: PRN hours will vary

• Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status.

• Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors.

• Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services.

• Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.

• Supervises practice experience for dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives.

• Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy

• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet software

• Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc.

• Avails self to staff on units as the nutrition expert

• Participates in Quality Improvement activities

• Attends interdisciplinary meetings and rounds on assigned units as scheduled unless valid excuse demonstrated

• Reviews and/or updates department resource/reference materials when applicable or Required

Education:

• Bachelor's Required

Field of Study:

• In nutrition or related field

Work Experience:

• 3+ experience in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Required

Pay Range:
