Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Dietitian to join the nutrition team, providing patient-centered dietary services within the hospital’s mission and values.

You will participate as an interdisciplinary team member, assess nutritional needs across pediatric populations, and educate patients and families on medically appropriate nutrition plans.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Georgia licensed dietitian.
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Determines nutritional assessment using age and developmentally appropriate standards.
• Recommends appropriate medical nutritional therapy for assigned patients and evaluates response to therapy.
• Instructs patient and family related to nutritional therapy incorporating age-appropriate developmental standards; involves family/caregiver in care and education.
• Advises groups related to pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as required.
• Implements departmental standards for documenting all work-related activities.
• Participates as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Directs and evaluates dietetic interns/students.
• Maintains professional development responsibilities.
• Performs other responsibilities including committee participation and annual competencies.

Job Description

Participates as interdisciplinary patient care team member to provide nutritional services and education to meet needs of identified patient population within the scope of the medical center’s mission and values.

Experience

• Pediatric nutrition experience in inpatient or outpatient setting preferred, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric populations

Education

• Dietitians credentialed prior to 12/31/23: Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
• Dietitians credentialed after 12/31/23: Master’s of Science or Public Health in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field

Certification Summary

• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Georgia licensed dietitian
• If dietitian does not currently possess RD and/or LD credential, must obtain within 3 months of hire
