Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in Orthodontics to support orthodontic care delivery. Responsibilities include room setup, instrument passing, x-ray taking, sterilization, charting, and assisting the doctor in procedures.

Must hold a California Registered Dental Assistant license and X‑ray certification. The role emphasizes patient education, treatment planning with the doctor, and ensuring compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college or 3+ months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• California Registered Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant License required.
• X-Ray Certification required.
• Coronal Polish Certification preferred.
• Sealant Certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Operates x-ray equipment and takes x-rays.
• Prophies teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Chart and treatment plan with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Setup and prepares rooms for hygiene and treatment.
• Take IO's (intraoral exams).
• Charting.
• Sealants, if applicable.

Overview

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) - Orthodontics

Summary: The Registered Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Pay Range: $20.77-$27.84/hr (Based on experience)
