Job summary

Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center is seeking a registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams using ultrasound equipment, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and stress testing.

The role requires certification in echocardiography (RDCS or RCS) and an Associate’s degree in a cardiovascular health field, with on-call hours and EPIC EHR/PACS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required.
• Credentialed in echocardiography: RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI).

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart.
• Proficient in non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy, procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Uses the EMR to review patient information and document findings.
• On call hours required.
