Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health's Hampton Roads Cardiology team is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and related heart assessments using ultrasound equipment, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress testing imaging.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree (preferred), BLS, and credentialing in echocardiography (RDCS or RCS). EPIC EHR and PACS experience are preferred; on-call hours are required. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required).
• Credentialed in echocardiography: RDCS or RCS.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Prepare and monitor patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.
