Job summary

Veolia is seeking a field-based water and wastewater operations professional to cover vacations and unplanned absences across multiple facilities in the region. The role requires operating pumps and valves, performing testing, and maintaining records to ensure compliance and reliable plant operation.

You will train local technicians, develop training materials, and support new account start-ups. Extensive travel is required, with assignments ranging from 1–2 weeks to a month.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia operated facilities in your designated region, including day and night shifts.
• Assist in operational development of local technicians with in-person training and training material development.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices are used, including record keeping, lab testing, and maintenance practices.
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team, develop operational tasks and train new technicians.
• Provide troubleshooting support and proactive decision making with local technicians.
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves to regulate wastewater flow and test wastewater samples as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical residuals, turbidity, and water pressure.
• Comply with Veolia safety programs.
• Analyze lab data to identify treatment issues and implement changes to prevent non-compliance.
• Possibly compile data for EPA or state regulators.
• Coordinate with other operators to maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
• Consult with management to determine best treatment approaches for client wastewater.
• Coordinate with multiple to schedule third-party maintenance and perform preventative maintenance tasks as defined.
• Complete minor and intermediate maintenance projects to keep facilities operating effectively.
• Willingness to work off-shifts with fellow operators when problems arise.
