Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking a mid-level Western PA Regional Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead growth in the region. The role focuses on expanding the water/wastewater practice in western Pennsylvania with cross-office collaboration and strong client development.

The candidate will manage projects, mentor staff, and drive strategy while ensuring quality delivery and regulatory compliance. A PE license in PA or comity eligibility within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• PE license in PA or eligibility by comity within 6 months.
• 11–15 years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience.
• Strong business development, proposal writing, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership in team building, staff mentoring, and strategic planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with cross-disciplinary collaboration across offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth of WRA’s water/wastewater practice in western Pennsylvania.
• Build relationships with regional clients such as ALCOSAN and PWSA.
• Identify, pursue, and manage water/wastewater projects from concept to completion.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering staff to support growth.
• Collaborate with leadership and staff to support firmwide growth initiatives.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans, establish goals, and drive execution.
• Ensure high-quality project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Represent WRA in professional and community organizations and client meetings.
