Job summary

State of Washington's Department of Children, Youth, and Families is hiring a Social and Health Program Consultant (Title IV-E Coordinator) in Tumwater. The role supervises five Title IV-E Specialists and reports to the IV-E Administrator, coordinating federally reimbursable funding to support foster care, relative guardianship, and adoption services.

You will oversee staff, evaluate performance, manage timekeeping and unit operations, and ensure compliance with IV-E procedures.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling nine (9) years in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, or health programs.
• Bachelor's or higher in relevant field with several years of related experience.
• Experience with child welfare, foster care, or title IV-E program administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the work of staff, adjusting assignments as needed to respond to fluctuating workloads. Manage the accomplishment of unit tasks.
• Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
• Review applicants’ credentials, conduct interviews, hire effectively and respond to changes in the FTE allocation.
• Provide support and guidance to employees making certain that employees have a clear understanding of their responsibilities.
• Manage timekeeping, reasonable accommodations, unit meetings, random case audits disciplinary actions and staff resources.
• Conduct monthly IV-E meetings.
• Reviews SharePoint for monthly performance measures and updates as they apply to the IV-E program
• Regional Lead for good cause determinations on child support collection actions.
• Manage work activities to sustain and improve the Title IV-E, Title XVI, and Title II programs with assigned regional direct reports
• Ensure that Public Benefit Specialist IV’s are performing work to standard as outlined in the Title IVE Procedure Guide.
• Periodically review IV-E determinations for accuracy, ensuring that employees are adhering to policy and guidelines of program.
