Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to lead high-voltage protection projects, serve as a technical authority for relaying, automation, SCADA integration, and drive delivery with a growing Power and Energy practice.

The role includes mentoring staff, overseeing project performance, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, safety, and client satisfaction across multiple offices in the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional engineer (PE) license.
15 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Travel frequency 10% or less.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high‑voltage substation protection and control projects.
Serve as a technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
Develop, review, and approve protection and control engineering deliverables.
Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection, and related analyses.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery, commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
