Job summary
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical authority and leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead high-voltage protection and control projects, mentor staff, and drive project delivery and client service.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- PE license required/preferred.
- 15+ years of protection & control experience in power systems.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
- Equivalent additional related experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
- Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
- Develop and approve protection & control deliverables (schematics, wiring, relay settings, layouts).
- Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection, and related analyses.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, utility standards, and CDM Smith quality procedures.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery, commissioning, testing, and startup.
