Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide both technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. This role combines advanced expertise in substation protection and control (P&C) engineering with responsibility for leading, developing, and growing a team of engineering professionals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
15 years of related experience in power delivery preferred.
Professional engineering (PE) license required.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Lead design, delivery, and execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
Act as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA, and communications.
Develop, review, and approve engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings).
Oversee project performance, budgets, schedules, and quality.
Mentor engineers and designers for career growth and technical excellence.
Support business development and client relationship management.
