Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange and research efforts in Rheumatology and Dermatology Immunology. Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Proven competence and a minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond that obtained in the terminal degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Dedication to scientific excellence with a strong focus on scientific education and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and work in a changing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.
• Commitment to adhering to SOPs, GCP guidelines, and GMSA strategy.

Responsabilités

• Develops professional relationships and engages with national and regional SLs to provide approved medical and scientific information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains presence with SLs to ensure medical contact within the company.
• Address scientific questions and direct inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Maintain current knowledge of dynamic scientific environment in AOI for therapeutic area.
• Initiates discussions with SLs and investigators to align with research strategies and study concepts.
• Enhances comprehension of foundations and goals of investigator-sponsored research.
• Identify barriers to patient enrollment and retention for milestones.
• Recommend study sites and investigators for phase II‑IV programs; conduct Site Initiation Visits.
• Lead protocol responsibilities in collaboration with GCTO.
