Job description

VAHLE is a leading global manufacturer of electrification and automation products. We serve a diverse group of industries, including assembly automation, amusement, intralogistics, crane technology and port technology. Our headquarters are located in Kamen, Germany and our Katy, Texas, location is the leading Market Organization for the North American market.

VAHLE, Inc. is currently seeking to hire a Regional Sales Manager to cover the Ohio Valley territory.

  • Candidates located in Ohio, East-side of Indiana, South-side of MI and Northern-KY regions are encouraged to apply.
  • Engineering and technical knowledge is required. Electrification and Crane Industry experience highly desired. This is a remote position within the United States, with some travel to the Katy, Texas, office location required.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic development and management of the assigned region, in coordination with the Sales Director to support existing clients and acquire new clients
  • Promotes the entire range of VAHLE products and services, including conductor bar systems, festoon systems, positioning systems, data communication systems, vPOWER systems and VAHLE technician services with a primary focus on the designated market
  • Manages and demonstrates strong sales engagement to meet defined revenue goals set in conjunction with the Sales Director
  • Works toward profitable sales and growth via existing and new customers as defined by KPIs
  • Prepares and executes a development plan to win new customers as defined via sales strategy by analyzing and identifying customer potential
  • Further develop long-term partnerships with existing customers as defined via sales strategy by:
  • Proactively assessing and understanding current and future customer needs
  • Exploring new opportunities within the customer (this includes after sales activities)
  • Developing and enhancing the quality of our company’s relationship with the customer
  • Actively promoting VAHLE services and product solutions highlighting technical specifications, performance data and benefits
  • Executing sales initiatives (considering competitor marketing and pricing activities)
  • Applying state of the art measures e.g. cold-calling, site visits, lobby work, trade fairs, lunch and learns etc. with a view to growing sales or margin or both, identifying key priorities
  • Acting for the benefit of VAHLE in relation to and in support of customer needs
  • Responsible for maintaining defined key accounts
  • Analyzes existing/new markets through interactive dialog with customers, sales personnel, industry links and stream partners by:
  • Pursuing, monitoring and winning bids
  • Creating on-site quotations in interaction with customer
  • Following up on quotes within given timeframe
  • Engaging in after sales activities
  • Creates high-caliber presentations to various groups within the customer’s organization and within VAHLE Inc. as needed
  • Utilizes CRM and SAP software 100% to capture sales stages, manage quotations, and other deliverables for accurate status of orders, sales, projects in progress, and orders lost and won and the root cause for lost orders
  • Analyzes sales activities, pipeline flow and achieved outcomes as defined by KPIs to prepare weekly reports
  • Solves customer complaints and disputes in accordance with VAHLE’s customer service philosophy
  • Coordinates with Market, Industry and Marketing Managers to enhance knowledge, share best practices, provide feedback and deliver solutions to customers
  • Continuously develops VAHLE network across the U.S.
  • Provides effective, professional and timely communication and coordination to meet goals

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a sales-related field in a midsize wholesale, distribution or manufacturing company, ideally with international business relations company, ideally with international business relations; crane market preferred.
  • BA Degree preferred- engineering/business/sales
  • Proven ability to successfully drive sales processes for complex electrical engineering products and systems, including the ability to assess and evaluate technical requirements and specifications
  • Proven development of sustainable partnerships with strategic customers in a relevant industry
  • Ability to produce creative and positive solutions through negotiation, leading to offers and contracts
  • Strong analytical skills for collecting and interpreting data by analyzing markets, products, services, gross revenue, profits and demographics
  • Experience dealing with KPIs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Electronic and mechanical competencies:
  • Knowledge of concepts and theories for electrical applications is fundamental for technical based problem solving
  • Ability to read or interpret prints, drawings and other industry related documents
  • Preferred technical competencies:
  • Experience with CRM software or ERP system; SAP preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Located in the states listed with the ability to travel to Katy, Texas, on occasion
