Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Region Trainer to lead a culture of safety across multiple sites in Kentucky. You will train new hires, deliver CMV and safety programs, and ensure regulatory compliance to reduce incidents and improve operations.

You will maintain documentation, coach through field observations, and partner with safety experts to build targeted training. A Class B CDL and DOT card are preferred; travel between offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to train others clearly and professionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA/industrial safety compliance.
• Knowledge of mechanical functions of commercial vehicles and equipment.
• Computer proficiency with Windows applications.
• Experience or knowledge of the waste industry and hauling operations.
• Ability to operate a commercial vehicle in DOT compliance.
• Must read and speak English well.

Responsibilities

• Lead new hire safety orientation sessions to set a safety-first tone.
• Deliver CMV driver training including pre-trip inspections and safe practices.
• Provide OSHA/DOT/FMCa compliance training for operational roles.
• Develop and manage HE and Certified PIT training programs with SMEs.
• Maintain training documentation and compliance reports for audits.
• Create metrics to measure training competencies and progress.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety huddles daily.
• Coach employees through field observations and ride-alongs.
• Identify training needs with operations and address safety trends.
• Assist investigations with training insights and corrective actions.
• Support site health & safety inspections and audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
