Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Area Safety Manager to lead safety programs across the assigned Area. You will provide technical expertise, develop training materials, and partner with leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture.

The role requires evaluating program effectiveness, reporting trends, and supporting investigations of incidents. A safety certification and a degree in Safety Management are preferred, with a strong emphasis

Qualifications

Professional safety certification from NSC or related body.
40-hour OSHA compliance training completed.
Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to interpret safety regulations and translate into actionable programs.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement loss prevention programs across the assigned Area.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT and state/federal regulations.
Lead safety training and a focus on proactive safety behaviors.
Monitor program effectiveness and drive corrective actions when targets are missed.
Coordinate with HR on safety communication and return-to-work programs.
Prepare timely safety reports and incident trend analyses.
Support investigations of accidents and injuries as needed.
