Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Area Safety Manager to support the development and implementation of loss prevention programs and safety objectives across the assigned area.

The role focuses on compliance with federal/state/local safety regulations, and the execution of training, incident investigation and safety communications. You will partner with HR and leadership to promote a safe working environment, manage return-to-duty programs, and provide timely injury trend reports.

Qualifications

• Professional safety certification or college degree in safety management.
• 40-hour OSHA compliance course.
• Effective interpersonal communication across organization levels and with external customers.
• Ability to write reports and formal correspondence with minimal direction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise to promote and implement safety training programs.
• Ensures loss prevention programs comply with OSHA, DOT and other safety regulations.
• Monitors implementation of safety programs and redirects activities to meet targets.
• Maintains recordkeeping and compliance across divisions and business units.
• Partners with HR to integrate safety messaging in new-hire orientation and training.
