Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a BU Safety Manager to support multiple business units across an area, developing and implementing loss prevention programs, safety objectives, policies, procedures and training.

You will provide technical expertise to BU leadership, ensure OSHA/DOT compliance, monitor program implementation, support return-to-work processes, investigate incidents, and assist in safety audits, with a strong emphasis on practical, proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• A professional safety certification through a nationally recognized safety organization.
• Successful completion of 40-hour OSHA compliance course.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety professional.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise and consultation to BU leadership to promote and implement safety-related training programs.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations across divisions and units.
• Monitors program implementation, investigates serious accidents, and supports audits.
• Supports return-to-work programs and coordinates with HR to minimize time away from work.
• Participates in safety meetings and prepares training materials.
