Job summary

Lemartec is seeking an Area Safety Manager to lead safety performance across a portfolio of construction projects in the United States. This role requires frequent travel to active sites and direct oversight of Senior Safety Managers, partnering with the Director of EH&S to meet regulatory compliance and risk reduction goals.

You will design, implement, and continuously improve safety programs, conduct audits, and drive best practices across projects regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a safety-related field is highly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive construction safety experience.
• Certification such as CHST, ASP, CSP is highly preferred.
• Experience in the construction field.
• Hands-on safety practitioner with the ability to influence change.
• Strong big-picture thinking and willingness to grow into larger roles.
• Proven track record with accident investigations and follow-through.
• Auditing experience and expertise in safety program audits.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Creativity and problem-solving to drive safety improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Senior Safety Managers to ensure consistent safety programs across projects.
• Design and continuously improve safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and alignment with corporate standards.
• Oversee Site-Specific Safety Manuals and high-risk activity policies.
• Conduct jobsite safety assessments and audits to identify hazards and gaps.
• Lead investigations into incidents and near misses to determine root causes.
• Partner with project leaders to embed safety accountability in operations.
• Lead regional safety meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Provide training and certifications for employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain emergency plans and incident documentation in compliance with regs.
