Job summary

Horrocks is seeking an experienced Regional Lead – Rail Engineer to guide and grow our rail practice across multiple regions in the United States. This role provides technical leadership, supports business development, manages key client relationships, and oversees delivery of rail projects regionally.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license, 10+ years in rail/transit, and proven ability to mentor staff, lead multidisciplinary teams, and travel regionally to

Qualifications

  • PE license is required.
  • 10+ years of rail, transit, railroad infrastructure, and transportation/land development experience.
  • Leadership of multidisciplinary rail engineering projects and client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of track design standards and railroad interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership for railroad projects and support strategic growth.
  • Plan, design, coordinate, and deliver rail projects including tracks, terminals, yards, and spurs.
  • Coordinate with railroad companies for DOT and municipal projects.
  • Mentor engineers and staff across multiple offices and project teams.
  • Drive staffing, resource planning, and project delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure QA/QC throughout project development and delivery.
