Job summary

Horrocks is seeking an experienced Regional Lead – Rail Engineer to grow our rail practice across multiple regions in the United States. You will provide technical leadership, manage client relationships, and oversee successful delivery of diverse rail projects while mentoring engineers and supporting regional growth.

The role requires strong rail engineering expertise, PE licensure, and a track record of leading multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in rail, transit, and railroad infrastructure projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary rail engineering projects and managing client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of track design, at-grade crossings, and railroad standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership for railroad projects and support strategic growth initiatives within the assigned region.
  • Lead the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of rail projects including tracks, terminals, spurs, yards, and sidings.
  • Coordinate with railroad companies for DOT and municipal projects involving railroad interfaces and crossings.
  • Serve as senior technical resource for rail design, grading, drainage, and infrastructure.
  • Mentor engineers and staff across multiple offices and project teams and support staffing and resource planning.
