Job summary

Fernwood Communities in Chicago’s Bronzeville is seeking an experienced Regional Property Manager to oversee daily operations of a multifamily portfolio. You will lead onsite teams, partner with executive leadership, and drive operational excellence while delivering outstanding resident service.

This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a track record of improving occupancy, budget management, and maintenance coordination across multiple properties.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive multifamily property management experience.
• Minimum of two years leading multiple communities or large multifamily assets.
• Demonstrated experience supervising onsite management and maintenance teams.
• Strong leasing operations, resident relations, and compliance knowledge.
• Proficiency with Yardi or comparable software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of an assigned multifamily portfolio.
• Lead and support Property Managers, Leasing Pros, Resident Services, and Maintenance.
• Enforce company policies and service standards across communities.
• Conduct routine inspections and operational reviews for improvements.
• Develop strategies to boost efficiency and resident satisfaction.
• Drive occupancy, leasing, renewals, and resident retention.
• Monitor leasing performance and resident satisfaction metrics.
• Resolve escalated resident concerns with onsite teams.
• Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and engagement.
• Manage operating expenses, collections, and financial performance.
• Review financial reports to identify trends and opportunities.
• Assist in annual operating budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure purchasing controls and expense procedures are followed.
• Coordinate capital improvements and maintain standards.
