Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to act as owner’s representative during preconstruction for fulfillment centers, sortation centers, and delivery stations.

You’ll manage complex projects from site selection through permits, coordinating with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Finance, and Construction—ensuring scope, budget, and schedule alignment across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience spanning design through implementation and operation.
• Experience within packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.
• Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned regions.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage difficult, cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, Launch/Startup, architects, engineers, permitting agencies, developers, and landlords to secure resources and milestones.
• Lead site selection, validation, scope development, and design management ensuring compliance with Amazon standards and requirements.
• Manage multiple concurrent large industrial projects across locations.
• Perform conceptual estimating and pricing reviews; negotiate costs with developers, general contractors, and design consultants.
• Own budget tracking, schedule management, and cashflow forecasting across projects.
