Job summary

Portwest, a global PPE and workwear manufacturer, is seeking an Area Sales Manager for Midland/Odessa, TX. You will sell Portwest products to distributors, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, with a strong focus on growing the distributor network and achieving sales targets.

Requirements include 2–5 years in PPE/workwear sales, experience with manufacturers/distributors/agents, and a valid driving licence with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience selling PPE, workwear or safety wear.
• Experience selling on behalf of a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or agent.
• Sales experience in related industries (Automotive, Tools, Chemicals, MROs).
• Drive to continue sales growth of Portwest through field sales.
• Clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout your region.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Positive attitude with a winning mentality.
• Excellent team player.

Responsibilities

• Build quality business relationships with new and existing accounts.
• Conduct daily face-to-face sales meetings with distributors, resellers, and agents.
• Identify existing customers with high growth potential and create a roadmap for their development.
• Identify new business opportunities and complete sales planning.
• Utilise strategies to win new business on a continuous basis.
• Engage in consultative selling by identifying customers’ needs and providing Portwest solutions.
• Develop clear written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
• Focus on selling new Portwest products by bringing samples to meetings.
• Ensure effective follow-up to close sales.
• Conduct market intelligence and promote distributor promotions at trade shows and events.
