Job summary

Portwest, a leading global PPE and workwear manufacturer, seeks an Area Sales Manager for Odessa and Midland (TX) to drive distribution sales. You will report to the Regional Sales Manager and help grow Portwest's footprint in the region.

The role requires 2–5 years selling PPE or related products, a strong drive, and willingness to travel across the region. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience selling PPE, workwear or safety wear.

Responsibilities

• Build quality business relationships with new and existing accounts.
• Conduct daily face-to-face sales meetings with distributors, resellers, and agents.
• Identify customers with high growth potential and create a development roadmap.
• Identify new business opportunities and complete sales planning.
• Use strategies to win new business consistently.
• Engage in consultative selling to meet customer needs with Portwest solutions.
• Develop clear proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
• Focus on selling new Portwest products by bringing samples to meetings.
• Ensure effective follow-up after meetings to close sales.
• Develop market intelligence through events, trade shows, seminars, and journals.
