The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III to oversee and coordinate district-wide park maintenance, renovation, and construction projects.

This role leads projects, manages budgets and resources, ensures safety standards, and collaborates with staff, contractors, and agencies. A sign-on bonus of $1,800 is offered, with a recruitment range of $55,221 to $70,040.

Qualifications

• Experience developing scopes of work for maintenance projects.
• Experience record keeping for maintenance projects within the state park system.
• Experience purchasing guidelines for informal contracts.
• Experience with budget, travel reimbursement, and financial reports.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsabilités

• Manage major maintenance, construction, renovation, demolition, and trail projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Develop project specifications, drawings, and cost estimates; oversee bidding, contractor performance, inspections, invoicing, and project closeout in accordance with state requirements.
• Evaluate and prioritize project requests, recommend funding allocations, track expenditures, and reallocate resources to address emerging and emergency maintenance needs.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for park maintenance staff and superintendents, providing expertise in facility repairs, construction materials, maintenance standards, and procurement procedures.
• Act as the primary liaison among park staff, contractors, architects, engineers, and state, local, and federal agencies to coordinate project activities and resolve issues.
• Support natural disaster recovery efforts, coordinate documentation for federal reimbursement, assist with staff recruitment, and contribute to maintenance training and professional development.
• Assist with the procurement, maintenance, allocation, and tracking of regional vehicles, equipment, and supplies, while coordinating maintenance staff and supporting broader park operational needs.
