The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) – Parks and Recreation Division – is seeking a Regional Maintenance/Construction Supervisor to oversee district maintenance, repairs, and trail projects for state park facilities. You will lead major projects, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate staff and resources across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance including two years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities.
• High school or GED diploma and five years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three trades including two years of supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Manage major maintenance, construction, renovation, demolition, and trail projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Develop project specifications, drawings, and cost estimates; oversee bidding, contractor performance, inspections, invoicing, and project closeout in accordance with state requirements.
• Evaluate and prioritize project requests, recommend funding allocations, track expenditures, and reallocate resources to address emerging and emergency maintenance needs.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for park maintenance staff and superintendents, providing expertise in facility repairs, construction materials, maintenance standards, and procurement procedures.
• Act as the primary liaison among park staff, contractors, architects, engineers, and state, local, and federal agencies to coordinate project activities and resolve issues.
• Support natural disaster recovery efforts, coordinate documentation for federal reimbursement, assist with staff recruitment, and contribute to maintenance training and professional development.
• Assist with the procurement, maintenance, allocation, and tracking of regional vehicles, equipment, and supplies, while coordinating maintenance staff and supporting broader park operational needs.
