Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is seeking a Regional Field Leader, Associate Director, to oversee a US Pain region spanning multiple states, including Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and surrounding areas. You will lead a 8-person team of PTAMs and TBMs, build strategic plans, and drive the JOURNAVX launch with emphasis on payer engagement and patient access.

The role requires a history of achieving regional forecasts, strong leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 10+ years in healthcare/biopharmaceuticals focusing on marketing or equivalent.
• 10+ years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience engaging hospitals/health systems and strategic accounts.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive results within regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4-5 Pain Territory Account Managers and 4-5 Territory Business Managers across multi-state geographies.
• Develop clear regional business plans, metrics, and goals; motivate the team to deliver results.
• Leverage data analytics and field insights to guide strategy and payer/formulary decisions.
• Manage strategic account plans and drive formulary, pathway, and protocol placement.
• Build long-term relationships with hospitals, accounts, and community prescribers.
• Collaborate with US Pain Marketing and cross-functional teams to drive performance.
• Coach and develop team members to achieve patient-centered outcomes.
• Ensure forecast achievement and maintain a high-performing culture.
• Model ethical behavior and maintain compliance with external stakeholders.
