Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks a credentialed Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange and provide medical information within US territories.

The role coordinates with national and regional SLs, supports investigator-initiated research and Company-sponsored trials, and contributes to scientific congress activities. The position requires a doctoral degree (PhD/MD/PharmD/DNP) and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with strong communication and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond degree program
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders
• Dedication to scientific excellence with focus on education and dialogue
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills
• Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and related guidelines
• Ability to organize and prioritize in a dynamic environment
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote)
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms
• Commitment to belonging and empowerment

• Supports research discussions and investigator interactions.
