Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (PhD/MD/DO/etc.) to lead scientific exchange, research discussions, and congress activities across the U.S. field team.

The role emphasizes collaboration with national and regional scientific leaders to advance company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies. The position requires strong regulatory knowledge, oncology/hematology expertise, and excellence in stakeholder engagement, education, and data dissemination in a remote/field

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of therapeutic area experience beyond degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with FDA, HIPAA, and other ethics/regulatory guidelines.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to provide approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact with SLs.
• Addresses SL inquiries on issues outside scope to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of scientific environment and area of interest.
