Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange, research, congress support, and insights across the US territory. Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required and applicable licensure/credentialing.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong commitment to scientific excellence and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Good understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to organize and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable scientific contact within the company.
• Directs SL inquiries on issues outside scope to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of the scientific environment in the AOI.
• Initiates discussions with SLs/investigators to align with research strategies and study concepts.
• Leads protocol discussions with GCTO and supports investigator-sponsored research.
