Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (PhD/MD/DO/PharmD or DNP) to lead scientific exchange, research initiatives, and congress support across therapeutic areas. You will engage with national and regional scientific leaders, provide balanced medical information, and guide investigator-initiated studies and site selections.

You will serve as a role model within the field medical team, ensuring adherence to GCP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines while advancing scientific insights

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the terminal degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Engages in bidirectional scientific information exchange with national and regional Scientific Leaders.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs external inquiries to appropriate company resources.
• Supports research activities including investigator-initiated studies and site initiation visits as applicable.
• Engages in scientific congress activities and facilitates data exchange across company and external data.
