Job summary

Merck in the USA is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (PhD/MD level) to lead scientific exchange and research initiatives across our hematology/oncology portfolio. You will engage with Scientific Leaders, provide non-product medical information, and act as a role model for field medical teams.

This senior role requires 3+ years in the therapeutic area, strong stakeholder management, and expertise with FDA/HIPAA/GCP.

Qualifications

PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
Minimum 3 years of therapeutic-area experience beyond degree.
Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
Strong focus on scientific education and dialogue.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and related guidelines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop professional relationships with national and regional SLs to share approved medical information.
Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain company contacts for SLs.
Address inquiries and direct SL questions to appropriate resources.
Maintain current knowledge of scientific and clinical environments in the areas of interest.
Lead discussions with SLs and investigators on study concepts and trial alignment.
Coordinate site initiation visits and identify investigators for clinical programs.
Engage in scientific congress support and gather insights from practice patterns.
