Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. is seeking a Regional Medical Lead (Director) to join the regional leadership team. You will shape the regional medical strategy, build relationships with top decision makers and influencers, and ensure resources align with patient-centric priorities to improve care and outcomes.

You will co-create initiatives with field leadership, coordinate evidence generation, and guide Medical Science Liaisons to focus on key institutions and payers within the region.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, or Biological Sciences (Pharm.D., M.D., D.O. or Ph.D.) strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience leading strategic initiatives across therapeutic and cross-functional teams.
• Developing, communicating and implementing strategy in complex healthcare environments.
• Understand interconnectivity of health systems and patient care delivery.
• Ability to analyze complex scientific, medical and business issues and identify barriers or success factors.
• Commitment to ongoing development of self and others to achieve goals.
• Ability to lead, influence and collaborate in a matrixed setting.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to regional strategic business planning addressing regional, local, and customer challenges.
• Build and manage senior stakeholder and C-suite relationships across the region.
• Develop understanding of regional ecosystems including health systems, centers of excellence, influencers and payers.
• Ensure alignment with patient-centric strategy and provide resources to improve patient care.
• Serve as primary medical contact for regional decision makers and influencers to co-create initiatives.
• Identify regional evidence needs and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
• Provide field leadership to guide MSLs toward priorities and engage key customers.
