Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Market Development Leader II in the Santa Rosa, CA area. The MDL II will partner with Independent Operators and Master Distributors to drive sales profitability through proactive communication and strategic initiatives.

Travel will be substantial, with emphasis on improving market share and store-level promotions. The role requires 5+ years in sales operations, strong leadership and negotiation skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
• 5+ years in sales operations, preferably in snacks, grocery, or beverage industry; DSD experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of Independent Distribution models and IO/Distributor agreements.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ethical selling, persuasion and relationship-building skills with IOs and distributors.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel 75–90%.

Responsibilities

• Communicate sales, service, and merchandising strategies to IOs and distributors to grow market share.
• Preserve rights and obligations of IOs and distributors.
• Prepare weekly volume and inventory reports and KPI scorecards.
• Provide a weekly Sales/IO work-with planner to SOD.
• Visit DC loading docks to hear IO concerns.
• Plan workshops with MDL team to maximize tool usage and sales potential.
• Reinforce Utz support for IOs and distributor relationships with store managers.
• Conduct store visits to promote displays, seasonal campaigns, and product introductions.
• Address IOs with the SOD on improvements and contract obligations.
