Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Market Development Leader II in the Deerfield Beach, FL surrounding areas. Under the direction of the Sales Operations Director, the MDL II partners with Independent Operators and Master Distributors to maximize sales profitability and market penetration using selling strategies and proactive communications.

The MDL II informs IOs and distributors of the company’s initiatives for sales, service, merchandising standards, and product distribution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in sales operations, preferably snacks, grocery, or beverage.
• DSD experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Independent Distribution models and IO/Distributor Agreements.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Ethical selling and negotiation with IOs and Distributors.
• Proactive verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and excellent organization.

Responsibilities

• Communicate sales, service, and merchandising strategies to IOs and distributors.
• Maintain obligations and rights of IOs and Distributors.
• Prepare weekly volume and inventory reports and KPI scorecards.
• Provide weekly Sales/IO Work-with planner to SOD.
• Spend time on DC loading docks with IOs to hear concerns.
• Suggest actions to grow market share: promotions, planograms, new product introductions, space, interruptions.
• Assist in planning workshops with the MDL team to drive tool usage and collaboration.
• Reinforce Utz support to store managers and decision makers.
• Conduct store visits to build relationships and present promotions.
• Use Store Summary to identify opportunities and address underperformance.
• Ensure required resets are successful.
• Run open routes when needed; operate a box truck safely.
• Provide route ride-alongs on request.
• Act as liaison with Settlement Department to resolve IO issues.
• Work cross-functionally and uphold Food Safety programs.
• Adhere to GMPs, OSHA, FDA standards.
• 75% to 90% travel.
