Job summary

Shopko Optical is seeking a Regional Manager to oversee multiple centers in the region, driving sales, profitability and patient experience. You will develop and execute strategies aligned with corporate direction, manage staffing, training, policy adherence and compliance, and build a strong leadership bench.

The role requires 5+ years of multi-unit retail leadership, a Bachelor’s in business, and proven ability to coach teams in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant business field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of multi-unit retail management experience.
• Optical Manager leadership experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build teammate relationships in an environment of fast change; must be able to direct, and motivate a diverse teammate population.
• Strong planning, analysis, and organizational skills.
• Able to work collaboratively in a matrix environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify problems and develop solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Able to thrive within a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive business performance by developing and executing merchandise, operational, and customer service strategies.
• Lead center visits to validate patient/customer service standards.
• Provide feedback and coaching on optician performance during visits.
• Establish and monitor center operations guidelines and compliance.
• Ensure operational exceptions are addressed and resolved.
• Facilitate ongoing process improvement.
• Stay up to date on regional competition.
• Oversee onboarding for new General Managers and Optometrists; coaching and development of staff.
• Collaborate with HR on staffing, recruiting, performance management and employee relations.
• Develop bench strength through GM in Training programs and regular talent evaluation.
• Oversee regional financial operations by driving sales and managing expenses.
