Job summary

Bodycote seeks a Regional Continuous Improvement Manager to champion operational excellence across manufacturing sites in the region. You will apply Lean, Six Sigma and root cause analysis to improve productivity, quality, and cost under the direction of the VP of Operations.

You will lead Kaizen events, coach leaders, and translate improvements into measurable financial gains while sustaining a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-4 years Lean experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Lean or operational excellence
• Six Sigma and/or Lean experience or certification preferred
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Operational Excellence Principles, Problem Solving, 5 Why, Daily Management, 5S, SMED, TPM, Standard Work, Poke Yoke
• Demonstrated lean management experience and results
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and coach
• Strong leadership and change agent skills
• Excellent team facilitation skills
• Excellent experience and skills using Microsoft Office
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language

Responsibilities

• Lead Continuous Improvement projects including Kaizen events aligned with the company’s targets
• Lead the site/function’s Lean transformation focusing on safety, quality, delivery and cost
• Train and coach managers and employees in Lean principles
• Partner with site leaders to build a culture of continuous improvement across targeted areas
• Coach/develop leaders to implement lean practices and drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost, and growth
• Convert improvements from Kaizen activities into measurable financial benefits and track to completion
• Audit and sustain CI Lean culture with scoring, gap analysis and problem solving
• Develop Kaizen roadmap with KPI targets and lead projects to goals
• Senior in Cultural Transformation and Strategy execution
• Ensure consistent application of CI practices and templates (Standard Work, 5S, TPM, etc.)
• Assist organization-wide kaizen efforts as needed
• Perform regular Gemba walks to evaluate opportunities
• Evaluate current practices to improve productivity and reduce costs
