Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical authority and team leadership within our Power and Energy practice. The role focuses on high‑voltage protection and control, protective relaying, SCADA integration, and mentoring engineers on multiple projects across the region.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and 15 years of related experience, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
PE license is required or must be in process.
15 years of related experience in power delivery or utility projects.
Domestic and international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of high‑voltage substation protection and control projects.
Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, and communication.
Develop and approve protection/controls deliverables including schematics and relay settings.
Lead power system studies, coordination, equipment selection, and analyses.
Ensure compliance with client requirements, standards, and CDM Smith procedures.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery, commissioning, and startup.
