Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to provide technical leadership and team development within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead and grow a team while delivering high‑voltage protection and control solutions for client projects.

The role focuses on acting as a technical authority for protective relaying, SCADA integration, and automation, with responsibility for project delivery, resource planning, and client service across multiple regional

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and PE license.
Minimum 15 years of related experience; travel may be required.
Experience leading HV substation protection and control projects.
Ability to develop and review protection and control deliverables.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high‑voltage substation P&C projects.
Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA, and communications.
Develop and approve protection and control deliverables and studies.
Mentor engineers, manage staffing, and support business growth.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
