Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. The role combines advanced P&C engineering expertise with leading a team of engineers and designers, delivering complex high‑voltage substation projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline and PE license.
15 years of related experience; travel may be required.
Domestic/international travel as duties demand; travel frequency varies.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high‑voltage substation protection and control projects.
Serve as a technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
Develop, review, and approve protection and control engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring, relay settings, layouts).
Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection, and related analyses.
Oversee team performance, utilization, and resource planning to support project delivery.
