Job summary

Tetra is seeking a Lead Low Voltage Technician to head regional access control and IP camera installations in Austin. This full-time, hybrid role oversees a small field crew, guides deployments, and ensures quality standards across multifamily and commercial sites.

You will install, program, troubleshoot, and commission systems; review blueprints; mentor technicians; coordinate with project managers and customers; and travel locally as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems installation and service.
• Extensive technical experience with access control systems and IP-based video surveillance networks.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling, low-voltage wiring practices, and networking fundamentals.
• Proven ability to lead, manage, and coordinate small field installation teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning of access control and IP-based camera systems.
• Supervise and coordinate daily field activities of two to three technicians on active project sites.
• Keep detailed documentation regarding customer contact and project progress.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and construction documents to guide team execution.
• Train and mentor less experienced field technicians through hands-on coaching.
• Troubleshoot complex system infrastructure issues involving hardware, software, networking components.
• Coordinate directly with project managers, customers, and other on-site trades to ensure seamless project execution.
