Job summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Computer Support Specialist II to serve as a Regional Extension Information Technology Contact supporting Cooperative Extension Service offices across western Kentucky. Based at the Research and Education Center in Princeton, KY, the role provides frontline technical support, consulting, and network assistance for 17 offices.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Office Suites, Mac OS, and peer-to-peer networking.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop, server, network, and technology support for Extension offices.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and system issues with strong customer service.
• Consult with Extension personnel on technology purchases, equipment selection, and IT planning.
• Support deployment, maintenance, and security of university technology resources.
• Provide basic user training on operating systems, software applications, and supported technologies.
• Assist Extension personnel with secure computing practices and risk mitigation.
