Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Regional Deployment Technician/Manager to support a DHS program in the San Diego area. This remote-role requires frequent travel to US borders and collaboration with Customs and Border Protection.

You will install IT infrastructure at multiple border sites and manage subcontractors while ensuring security compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong PM background, excellent communication, and hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling, LED displays, and field

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 9+ years in deployment or similar role.
US citizenship with ability to obtain CBP Public Trust clearance.
Understanding of construction techniques and ability to read construction documents.
Solid grasp of basic Project Management principles.
Good time-management and communication skills.
Experience with field deployments and IT security policies.
Proficient with signal cabling such as CAT6 and coaxial.
Experience with fiber cabling testing and splicing.
Management experience with subcontractors.
Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

Manage and perform equipment installations at Land Ports of Entry, Airports, and Border Patrol locations.
Coordinate with electrical contractors for inside/outside plant site modifications.
Track and document the progression of the work.
Troubleshoot issues through to resolution.
Identify problems and risks and develop resolutions.
Maintain deep technical understanding of deployed solutions.
Adhere to IT and physical security policies.
Work in field environments with minimal supervision.
Provide surge support for non-deployment break fix work.
Build relationships with CBP officers and Border Patrol Agents.
