Job summary

SAIC is searching for a Regional Deployment Technician/Manager to lead IT infrastructure deployments for border-security initiatives in the Buffalo, NY area. This full-time role requires up to 75% travel and prefers candidates near a major international airport for ease of travel.

You will manage installations at land ports of entry and airports, supervise subcontractors, coordinate cabling work, and ensure security policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years in deployment management or similar role.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain CBP Public Trust clearance.
• Currently reside in Buffalo, NY area or close proximity.
• Understanding of inside/outside plant cabling and ability to read construction documents.
• Solid understanding of project management principles.
• Excellent time-management and communication skills.
• Experience with mobile tools and applications.
• Knowledge of low voltage electrical wiring principles.
• Experience with CAT6, coaxial, and fiber testing/termination.
• Experience with LED displays and digital billboards.
• Management experience with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform equipment installations at Land Ports of Entry, Airports, and Border Patrol locations.
• Coordinate electrical contractors for inside/outside plant site modifications.
• Track and document the progression of the work.
• Troubleshoot issues through to resolution.
• Identify problems and risks during installations and develop solutions.
• Maintain technical understanding of deployed solutions.
• Adhere to IT and physical security policies.
• Work in field environments with minimal supervision.
• Provide surge support for non-deployment break-fix work in Buffalo, NY.
• Build relationships with CBP officers and Border Patrol Agents at sites.
