Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, an Oceans Healthcare Company, seeks a Regional Intake Clinician to support admissions and patient access across multiple facilities in the region. You will manage referrals, phone-based assessments, and intake screenings while collaborating with clinical teams.

This role requires strong customer service, multitasking, and communication in a fast-paced environment; travel between facilities and onsite reporting within three hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, RN or related field.
• Two years experience in behavioral healthcare; crisis management, intake or inpatient psychiatric treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to inbound referrals via phone or fax.
• Process admission requests from referral agencies and from within the community.
• Review clinical packets for criteria in alignment with the facility's capability and capacity.
• Maintains understanding of admission and exclusionary criteria of each assigned facility.
• Conducts phone assessments and Intake Screening and Assessment Part 1 thoroughly on all appropriate accepted patients.
• Completes insurance benefit verification and authorizations.
• Documents all calls and referrals into the EMR system.
• Pre-admits patients in the hospital billing system.
• Collaborates with other facility personnel to ensure appropriate recommendation of referrals.
• Coordinates admission and transfer between other hospital systems, emergency departments, outpatient providers, and community referral sources.
• Communicates projected admissions to designated facility staff.
• Complies with organization policies and procedures.
• Maintains ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Completes other duties and projects as assigned.
