Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is hiring a Regional HSE Manager to lead our enterprise-wide health, safety, and environmental programs across regional operations. You will drive a strong safety culture, manage incident investigations, and oversee workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims processes.

The role emphasizes developing policies, conducting audits, and leading safety training to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of HSE experience in heavy civil or trenchless construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
• Strong knowledge of managing workers’ compensation and liability claims.
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• CSP, ASP, or CHST certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate HSE policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and field safety observations.
• Lead safety training programs (confined space, excavation, equipment operation, hazard communication, etc.).
• Support the VP of HSE in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and site-specific safety plans.
• Track and analyze safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses) and implement corrective actions.
