Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a Regional HSE Manager to lead enterprise health, safety, and environmental programs across regional operations. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives a strong safety culture, and oversees workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims processes.

The position requires 5+ years of HSE experience in heavy civil or trenchless construction, a related bachelor’s degree, and CSP/ASP/CHST preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of HSE experience in heavy civil or trenchless construction.
• CSP, ASP, or CHST certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate HSE policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and field safety observations.
• Lead safety training programs (confined space, excavation, equipment operation, hazard communication).
• Support the VP of HSE in developing JHAs and site safety plans.
• Track and analyze safety metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Manage incident reporting and claims processes across the company.
• Coordinate medical treatment, return-to-work programs, and modified duty.
• Prepare documentation for claim reviews and legal proceedings.
