Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a Regional HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental programs across regional operations. You will drive regulatory compliance, foster a strong safety culture, and oversee claims and investigations.

You will partner with site leaders to implement policies, conduct audits, train teams, and monitor safety metrics while supporting workers’ compensation and liability processes. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years HSE experience in heavy civil or trenchless construction.
• CSP, ASP, or CHST certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate HSE policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and field safety observations.
• Lead safety training programs (confined space, excavation, equipment operation, hazard communication, etc.).
• Support the VP of HSE in developing JHAs and site-specific safety plans.
• Track and analyze safety metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Manage all incident and accident reporting processes across the company.
• Conduct investigations for injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and environmental incidents.
• Serve as liaison with insurance carriers and third-party administrators regarding claims.
• Coordinate medical treatment, return-to-work programs, and modified duty assignments.
• Maintain records of claims and analyze trends to reduce losses.
