The role begins with HR operations—onboarding, employee separations, and ad hoc requests—and progresses to regionally focused HR support for an assigned group of locations. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HR experience, solid knowledge of California wage and hour laws, and hands-on Paylocity experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of HR experience; multi-site or retail experience preferred
• Working knowledge of California employment law (wage and hour, leaves, final pay)
• Experience with HRIS systems; Paylocity experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for regional travel)

Responsibilities

• Phase 1: Onboarding, separations, HRIS data, ad hoc requests, and team support.
• Phase 2: Regional HR Generalist duties for assigned region and store visits.
• Lead employee relations, leaves administration, and performance management support.
• Recruiting coordination, staffing, and compliance training delivery.
• Lifecycle oversight: onboarding and separations for the region; monitor turnover and ER trends.
• Prepare HR reports from HRIS and analyze data for risks.
