Job summary

Intertek seeks a Regional Engineer - Geotechnical in Charlotte, NC to provide technical leadership across geotechnical projects. The role focuses on evaluating lab and field data, preparing technical reports, and guiding junior staff.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and safety. Required are a bachelor’s in engineering with a master’s in geotechnical engineering, 10+ years of experience, and NC PE or licensure in nearby states.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree from ABET-accredited engineering program and a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering.
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• North Carolina P.E. license or ability to obtain in-state or neighboring-state licensure.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (GeoStudio, LPILE, APiLE, etc.).
• Target Principal Consultant status within Intertek after demonstrated performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical engineering support on diverse projects including transportation and infrastructure developments.
• Perform evaluations, make engineering judgments, and document findings from lab and field data.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports aligned with project specs and scope of work.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with national teams to deliver quality results.
• Engage with clients, attend site meetings, and contribute to business development.
